Hi,
I have unfortunately bad news about l-works. If you don't believe this, please look at l-works.net and the news section. Liam will not develop any games, but he will support his previous titles. Thanks.

Well, I do think it was crappy of him to start work on Super Egg Hunt Plus and then drop it, not because I was really interested in buying the game (honestly, the free version was enough) but because I think if you announce you're doing a project, you should probably follow through with it. On the other hand, I have no idea what's going on in his life, maybe there are personal reasons why he can't finish it. So while it's a little disappointing to see yet another staple in the blind gaming community fall off the radar, I don't think anybody should be too hard on him for it either. I just hope he doesn't go back on his word about supporting the games. Now that's what I have a problem with, people who post their games as abandonware and then say they want nothing to do with the titles, and not even allowing them to be distributed. This is different because the games aren't abandonware, exactly, but I do think it's a shame, especially if the games are high quality, for people who are just getting into audio games to not be able to play them just because a developer had a hang-up about not providing support for them.

What would be awesome one day in a future far away is finding a way to get some mainstream games accessible. I have no doubt it could be done. it's just a matter of the time, market and technology to do it. I heard somewhere that someone's trying to make the game Deus Ex accessible. If that ever happens Blind gamers everywhere will be in for quite a treat.

Liam strikes me as a fair guy. So I don't imagine he'll go back on his word. My biggest disappointment is it's now very likely we'll never see Super Liam 2, though of course that game was put on hiatus years ago before Liam even got a job. And now that he has one it would probably be even harder to devote the needed time to such a project.

No. I won't go back on supporting games games. If someone purchases or has purchased a game I'll support it. In a perfect world I would finish the game, but I don't exactly have the time or drive to do that. I work full-time programming and the last thing I want to do is come home and do it more.

That's cool. I'm glad you have enough respect not only to keep supporting the games, but to come out and say it so that speculation doesn't continue.

Sad, but understadnable. It's good you're supporting the games you already have.

I hope that you'll leave the site up. I personally love the games from l-works and hate it when I find a really good game, described on

http://www.audiogames.net

and either the link to download it no longer exists or no longer works. It's even worse when I had the game and now can't find it! Anyway, I wish you luck and success at your job.

They did a major overhaul on the audiogames.net database. I haven't actually checked it out, but I'm a member of that forum, and that's what the mods said. So there shouldn't be as many broken links anymore.

I'm turtlepower17 over there. I don't post much, but I do make a point of checking the forums for new releases.
